I recently read about a supercharger that is being manufactured in Switzerland. The name of the company is Z-Engineering. Has anyone heard of them? (12/99)
Their homepage is http://www.swissonline.ch/z-engineering/
I mailed and asked for details. They saidthe MX-5 kit will be ready in spring 2000! Please contact out US-dealer Nik Saran for all the details on: http://www.z-engineering.com If you see their web site you'll see systems for other cars are many $$$$. Looks like more expensive than Sebring. (12/99)

.. you can Mk2 S/C .. just the timing control side is poor (.. better stop me here.......... before I start something!)

The Z-engineering thing is a belt driven centrifugal blower .. the centrifugal blower bit is what happens on a turbo (as opposed to positive displacement like most S/C) .. so you get low efficiency at low speeds .. like an off boost turbo .. and good efficiency at high rpm .. like an on boost turbo .. with the poor efficiency of a supercharger (compared to the high efficiency turbo). So you get the worst parts of a turbo and a super! As someone else said .. a great tool for a stuffy non breathing US V8 where the high rpm bit over comes the poor high rpm breathing. (3/00)

A new Supercharger that will be on the market soon through various retailers..

New Supercharger which is not made by Sebring. Supposed to be running 0.45 bar and has already been fitted to an otherwise unmodified MkII 1.8. Putting out 200bhp at crank. Can't remember exactly but a fifth injector is use dto take care of the extra fueling. Takes 1 hr to fit apparantly and will be available in the UK for 3000GBP inclusive of VAT and fitting. Kits also available for MkI 1.6 and 1.8.

This company has a good track record for adding SCs to VWs. The price seems a bit steep but I've seen it already and it takes up a lot less space than the Sebring. (6/00)
