| I've just my Mk2 in the Mazda dealer for brake problems, in
that I'm getting a clicking noise sometimes when I apply the brakes.
Sometimes it sounds like its from just behind the bulkhead, and
othertime from the back. The dealer agrees with me on the problem,
but was not able to rectify the problem yesterday, are are awaiting
info from Mazda on a solution. They think the problem is with the
calipers. Any ideas, or has anyone had similar probs? |
| You get the noise just as the brakes bite, then it's gone . Probably
only noticable after the brakes have warmed up. It's a pretty common
problem. Lubricate the sliders on the calipers with copper grease.
Obviously not the smartest of dealers!!! (12/99) |

a/ Servo sticking (remember that brake
failure on a Mk2 the other day .. someone's good wife)
b/ Rear brake proportioning valve sticking
c/ Brake calipers sticking after standing for a while.. ..
difficult to trace unless you tell us more.. speed, how long
since brakes last applied, what was engine doing (vacuum), temperature,
time of year etc.. (12/99)

| The dealer thought it was the one way valve (between inlet and
servo) that was sticking. Things improved for a while after he "cleaned"
the valve by blowing through it!! Unfortunately the problem is back
again... (12/99) |
| Bit too easy .. and simple for the dealer .. but possible. (12/99) |
