| Since I am soon to be hauling my radiator out to
try and find coolant a leak, I though it might be a good idea to
replace the cooling hoses as they are ten years old. I want to replace
them with the silicon Samco sport blue ones - where can I get a
kit for the MX-5? The Moss UK site has the hoses but I think they
are just the top and bottom hoses - I would like some othe the others
to match things up. Any ideas? (6/00) |
| Demon Tweeks Last
time I looked there wasn't very much on the web site, but I think
it gives telephone contact details. (6/00) |
| The Moss top and bottom hose kit is the only kit available for
the MX-5 AFAIK. Nothing to stop you going to a local race shop and
buying a few yards of hose off the reel though, for a bit of DIY.
That's what I did - results..... http://www.mxfive.co.uk/images/bgengine.jpg

| If I remember correctly Samco hoses do a kit for the MX-5, both
the rad pipes and others. Available from Demon Tweeks, don't have
the catalogue with me though so cant quote prices. (6/00) |
| I phoned recently, and was told they no longer do the full kit.
Just the top and bottom hose. (6/00) |
| The water hoses are different in that they are specially layered
and shaped - stuff you buy by the metre is not, but is obviously
quite flexible. Should be fine for vacuum and air hoses. Take off
the hoses you want to replace and measure them to see the internal
diameter and total length. I got mine from Graham Goode in Leicester,
though Demon Tweeks do it, as does Road Runner in Nottingham. (6/00) |
| In case anyone is interested, Demon-Tweeks do a kit for the MX-5
engine bay similar to the kit that Moss used to supply, on top of
just the hoses for the radiator. It is expensive at 70 for 4 hoses
- probably cheaper to buy legnths and cut it yourself! (6/00) |
