Can anyone tell me how to adjust a slack sebring drivebelt? I have no instructions as mine have walked, and for the life of me cannot work out how the p/s pump is adjusted now the stock adjuster seems to be attached to nothing of any importance. (I didn't install the blower thats why I don't know!!) I know you adjust it via the pump and I can see the pivot bolt, but what is now holding it in position???? When the system gets warm, you can see the belt wandering over the left hand idler (the side the belt is being 'pushed' by the crank pulley rotation) and makes an annoying chirruping noise at idle. Anyone help before my belt and patience snap?? (1/00)

On mine you loosen the bolt that goes through the power steering pump, loosen another bolt on the idler pulley assembly (the one that locks the pillow block in position) and then you use the long bolt to wind the power steering pump away from the block. If I've had the odd mistake in this description I apologise. But this is because I put it together so it looked right, tightened everything up, and then forced the belt past the idler with two thumbs and one grunt! It's been fine ever since.

If yours is loose you'll be losing boost and wearing the belt. Check your alignment carefully (lots about this on the sscor list lately) at the same time. (1/00)
