| Has anyone had a problem with the soft top being really tight when closing the roof. The guy I bought the car from says that it should loosen up with use but it does seem very tight and am wondering whether I am going to have to buy a new one or are there some simple adjustments that can be made?? | The soft top on my Sport is always very dificult to close after the hard top has been on for an extended period. When I took the hard top off last week (the first glimmer of sunshine was the excuse) the soft top needed two of us to close it at first, but soon loosened up after a couple of days. (2/00) |

Just checking, but do you normally unclip the locks and then unzip the plastic window before lowering the roof? The unclipping first saves damage to the zip and the unzipping saves damage to the plastic window. Just that nobody told me when I first got mine :). So your top is too tight .......??? Unclip the top, and look at the clips. A plastic bit on the "hook" flicks down to allow access to a little nut. Move the nut a bit, flick up the plastic and try again. Just repeat this until your happy with the fit. Too loose and it might leak! (2/00) |
