| My question is, has anyone tried removing
shelby stripes yet? Are they likely to cause problems with corrosion/scratching/uneven
fading etc? I'd be up for a pair, but I wouldn't want to have to
try to sell it with them on. Anyone done it themselves recently,
or can say whether it's a DIY/professional job? (11/99) |
| The address of the Miata.net Stripe Machine, if anyone's interested
(it is pretty damn funky) is: http://www.echelon.ca/tanner/StripeMachine/dHTML.html
Even if you're not intersted in stripes, it'll amuse the gadget
freak in you. The US-style stripes are pretty cool, too. (11/99) |
| At the NEC show there was a bloke doing a huge range of stick-on
badges, bonnet stripes for minis, even union jack roofs (want one
for your hardtop? - thought not :o). He simply had a PC linked up
to a vinyl cutter and turned 'em out to order in whatever colours.
Presumably Shelby stripes could be done easily enough this way.
I'm sure they'd come off but I can't believe it wouldn't notice
- even if the paint underneath remained intact the surrounding area
paint would have dulled/faded. Wouldn't it? (11/99) |
| I'd like to add some 'AC Cobra' style stripes to my MX5, but
have only managed to locate a US dealer. Does anyone know of a UK
based company that deals in such things? (12/99) |
| I just went to a local signs shop and bought a strip of adhesive
vinyl. It was exactly twice the width I required, so I simply cut
it in half lengthways. For the results go to :
