| Anyone who has a mk2. If you look on the drivers
seat by the tilt mechanism on the bottom cushion you may well find
a small tear appearing, as I did. If so go and complain to your
local Mazda dealer. I did and they are replacing the seat cover
as it looks like it is caused by a design fault !! (5/00) |
| I have this very problem with my MkII drivers seat. I was going
to get my local dealer to sort it out during the next service. Only
another 1000 miles to wait. I too was going to point out a design
fault problem. Every time you swing your legs in and out of the
drivers door, the seat material gets pinched on the plastic surround
of the seat back tilt/pivot point. It was bound to get damaged at
some point. (5/00) |
| I checked during lunch and my 1 year old mk2 has the same problem.
A +- 1cm long, 0.5cm wide tear near the plastic on the side of the
drivers seat (LHD car in this case, so I suppose the passengers
seat could be suffering from the same problem if it's used often
enough). Looks nasty once you know it's there. Oh BTW: I have cloth
seats (no leather option available in Belgium when I bought the
car). Anyone with leather seats who has the same problem? I was
thinking about upgrading to leather later on, so maybe this could
be the perfect excuse :^). (5/00) |
