Can anyone please tell me the function of a small, round, 2-position, rocker switch that is fitted adjacent to the glovebox and immediately below the passenger interior light? There is no mention of it in the manual and I cannot see anything 'extra' that may have been fitted and subsequently removed. (5/00)

The function of this switch is a secret, only known to a few special people. (I asked at two Mazda garages more than once before I found a man that knew).

If you leave the switch in one position (up or down, I don't really know cos the 5's in the garage and I'm in my office) if you have your windows down and want them to stay down while you alarm / lock the car with the blip, the windows will stay down.

However, if you put the switch the other way up / down and leave the windows down, when you alarm the car they will automatically close as if by magic, first the driver's side (if it's not broken like mine) and then the passenger side.

It's quite cool - your passenger, being helpful, will say, 'hey, you've left the window open' and you can coolly walk away, knowing that they will close themselves. (5/00)
