| Buying a new hood, do I need to buy a new rain
rail or can I use the old one. Robbins dont seem to do a singel
window PVC hood with a rain rail fitted. Any advice welcome. (1/00) |
| What's a rain rail? (1/00) |
| Rain rails are fragile with age .. so you might get away with
reusing the old one but you will have to be very careful and realistic
expect to patch the old one up with gaffer tape or similar; not
the best thing in an awkward place that could leak water into the
car. (1/00) |
| I second that recommendation. If the hood is being replaced for
age related reasons, rather than trauma with an edged instrument,
I'd recommend a new rain rail. The plastic from which the rain rail
is made is thin and brittle even when new. (1/00) |
