| Does anybody know if Panasport wheels are available in the UK. The only place I have seen them advertised for the MX5 is on the Moss US website. Moss UK only seem to offer a similar (?) minilite wheel in 14inch size. (11/99) |
| Look on the web .. the only place I could find them was the US
importer in LA (who is Japanese - I talked to him) .. and Roadster
Owner Club in Japan had them listed .. definitely no UK supplier
that I could find and Moss UK do not actually use them. I investigated
the couple of Minilite UK suppliers and found the wheels heavy,
expensive and no use above 14" due to mismatching wheel stud patterns...
my findings.. Panasports LA,US 310 373 0071 14"x7" popular for Miata 15"x6" FC (my last car had) = $200 ea 15"x7" FS15 13lbs (with Dunlop SP8000=35lbs), Moss for $214/540/700 16"x7" new $260/163/212/845/1034 (150 P&P) (11/99) |

A stock '93 alloys with Dunlop D60A2's weigh 30 lbs. Panasport makes two types of wheels; Panasport Ultra-lites_14x7 _38 mm offset _10.5 lbs _$193 each _single piece construction _not recommended for street use; thinner aluminum used to save weight not designed to hit potholes Panasport Streets _14x7 _38mm offset _14 lbs _$150 each _single piece construction _okay for street use, stronger than the Ultra-lites. not sure on what you are buying! - 15" is available in 6" and 7" 147,000 equates to 735 Superlite = minilite look alike on web but wt=19lbs,not correct offset Minilites (originals) 205/50-15 spacers at front, deep well lugs, centre caps broke up. Made in UK but stamped Australia on rim 9.6kg = 21lbs (11/99) |
