| I have read many articles/e-mails of
owners disliking the clock in the Mk 2. I peeked in a Mk2 Eunos
import, and instead of the small opening/clock it had a full width
opening which could take sunglasses. The radio/cassette was also
in the top slot. It looked far more useful to me! P.S. I wonder
how much it would cost to get one? Any ideas anyone? (11/99) |
| I too think the clock is awful and was wondering if anyone
knew of a CD holder fitment that would fit in the space where the
clock and the "open bit" are? I saw one which held 4 CD's on the
USA Miata site for the Mk1 and was wondering if one is available
for the new version? (11/99) |
| What's the easiest way of taking out the clock panel ? (11/99) |
| It just clips in place. Serious do a special tool, but you could
probably use something like a crochet hook. I actually removed my
radio and could then easily remove the LCD panel. I moved the radio
up to the top slot and then removed the LCD (straight in the bin),
fitted the Smiths and installed the panel in the old radio slot.

Otherwise take out the panel, remove the LCD, discard the bits,
cut a small piece of plastic or leather to fit where the LCD went
and fit a Smiths clock or other analogue to your personal pref.
I did this to my MK1 and now Mk2, looks great. (11/99) |
| I got a opening / tray thingy for my mk1 when I went from a Eunos
radio (1.5 Din head unit) to a normal size radio, I got the tray
from my local dealer for around about £25. I suppose a one
for a mk2 (possibly similar?) would be the same price. The radio
can go top or bottom as it sits in a 2 din size cage in the dash.
