| I am having a slight technical whereby I seem to be getting
engine noise through the speakers when the radio is on (sort of
interference) when you rev up. I guess I need a 'surpressor??' or
something like that?? question:- Is it that I need and if so where
does it fit between?? (12/99) |
| At least in my case, this was one of the symptoms of plug wires
going bad for the first time A.D. 1992 (IIRC). (12/99) |
| IF you've got a shite radio, you've probably got no hope - upgrade.
If not, try some suppressers from local motor accessory place. MotorWorld,
Halfords etc. They are very cheap and easy to fit. There are a few
different types. I seem to remember from my Motormania days there
was one that connected into the inline fuse. You can use more than
one. It took quite a few on my old mini. (12/99) |
| You are probably listening to a weak station, I have just noticed
I have the same problem on some of the weak ones. I have a MK2 and
I think it needs a bonnet earth strap rather than any form of suppression.
Once you join the bonnet to the rest of the body, the radio waves
can't get out. Your leads are most likely carbon anyway and this
will suppress spark noise. (12/99) |
| In a pro audio store, the installation of the radios -electric
wires lead directly to the battery. (maybe I got lucky) I 've always
connected my radio like this & never had problems (even with a cheap
Jensen amp. these are known for trouble like you mention) (12/99) |
