Anyone with a workshop manual/wiring diagram able to tell me if there's an ignition switched circuit in the boot of my 96 1.8i? If so where, and what the colour coding of the wire is. I thought there might be something for an aerial motor, for example, which I don't have.

I want to make use of it for an electronic widget I plan to install there, which should only be live when the ignition is on. I don't really want to run power all the way from somewhere under the dash. (1/00)

Close, but no cigar. The aerial motor has a permanent 12 volt supply from the battery (via a fuse). However there is relay for the heated rear window has a 12 Volt feed from the ignition. This is in the boot.

If you have this fitted, then it is behind the carpet inside the boot behind the number plate. This is relay is feed via a fuse which is between the battery and the aerial. If you don't have the relay, then you wont have the fuse or fuse block either. This fuse block just has the aerial and heated-rear-window fuses in it. If you have both then the blue wire on the relay is the +12V ignition feed.

In any case there should be a connector for the fuse block. So you should be able to find what you are looking for. (1/00)
