| Now the hard top's become a fixture for the winter (yeah, yeah,
I know !) I've got a particularly annoying bug. At speeds over about
30mph I get a really noticeable whooshing of wind around the door/window/hardtop
join just by the passenger's shoulder. It gets louder the faster
you go, until at 70+ it's really pretty loud. I've tried re-seating
the top to no avail. The clips all fit perfectly, and there's no
forcing necessary. The only solution seems to be stuffing a handkerchief
into the area which dulls the noise a little. Thing is, there's
absolutely no noise from the driver's side. Any ideas, anyone? (11/99) |
| Do you have the hardtop striker plates next to the seatbelt anchor
points? If not, installing these should fix the problem. Otherwise,
you could try to adjust the window height (not to high to avoid
problems with the softtop)(11/99) |
| Have you tried adjusting the rubber seals ? If you look under
the seals you will see that there is a metal strip which can be
adjusted by loosening the screws. I did this adjustment to get rid
of some wind noise on the driver side of my hardtop. I've also done
the same adjustment on the softtop. (12/99) |
