I have a Eunos Roadster which had a band expander fitted when I bought the car. I am having trouble tuning the radio in to certain stations ie Kiss 100fm I can not seem to find it. Can some one else with a band expander tell me what Frequency is displayed for Kiss 100fm. So I can check that the band expander is okay or not. (12/99)
My band expander "moves" the frequency by 18. Therefore 100FM displays 82 on the radio panel. (12/99)
My Eunos has still got it's original stereo in it from Japan. Is it true that these are coded? I'm wanting to put my own stereo in and I wondered if this ment I would have to scrap my old one. I would have prefered to have been able to keep this to put back in if necessary when I sold it. (12/99)
There is no reason why you could not change the stereo back to original before sale, I am going to do exactly that although I have a UK car. Changing the stereo is an easy business anyway, I have already changed mine twice as the changer on the last one died and I cant be without CD in my car. I am not sure what connection type the Roadster uses although I would guess the fittings to be the same as the UK car and hence ISO blocks. These are pretty standard across many manufacturers (Blaupunkt, Pioneer, Phillips, Clarion, Gelhard - from my experience). (12/99)
I recently ran my battery down to zilch..... (Light warning buzzer anyone? can I covert my annoying seat belt buzzer?) My original Eunos stereo worked fine when I recharged the battery. (Yes I did remove it from the car, so I know there was no power to it) (12/99)
AFAIK, there's no security coding. (No one pinches car radios in Japan - hardly anyway) So just keep it and pop it back when you need! :-) (12/99)
Yes, they' re coded , but if it's the early model, there's instructions on miata.net on how to uncode them. (12/99)
Only US Miata versions of the radio are coded.. original Japanese radio for Mk1 has no coding .. and the US one is easy to decode if you look on the web. (12/99)
My radio worked fine after being removed - no code problems The plug in my car was a standard mazda one, I got a ISO / Mazda adapter from halfords for a tenner. It means it all plugs in and out no problem. I think older cars will have a mazda specific connnector and newer one's will be ISO. (12/99)
