I've heard various theories about the brakes, some people saying Eunos (sorry Roadster) brake pads are different from UK spec cars. Other people telling me they are all the same. Who's right? What brake pads do people recommend and where do you get them from? Mine's a mk1 1990 classsic red and filthy at the minute. I'm not desperate yet, that's why I'm asking now just in case I have to order them. (2/00)
I've changed the front and rear pads on my 1991 Roadster (eunos) and had no difficulty fitting them. I've used the axis metal master pads for the front bought from Moss ,these are the uprated pads which are supposed to reduce brake fade etc and if I remember rightly the rear ones where mintex, both sets fitted with no problems. I replaced my front brake pads about a year ago with the uprated pads from Moss (www.mossint.co.uk). They fit perfectly - there aren't any major differences between eunos/miata/mx5 (2/00)

There aren't ANY differences between eunos/miata/mx5 in the brakes department :-)

1.6 and 1.8 pads are different though. (2/00)

I had a conversation with the parts/service department of Canterbury Mazda some 18 months ago shortly after buying my Eunos. After giving them the engine size & year they faxed Mazda UK for confirmation and then called me back to confirm that UK spec pads would fit "no problem". Have since had both fronts and rears replaced with no problem sourcing pads. (2/00)
While the compound of the original pads fitted to the Roadster and MX-5, may be different (unlikely), they are exactly the same size, so any brake pads for a particular age and engine size will fit either a MX-5 or Roadster. (2/00)
