| Can anyone with FI let me know what clutch you run as I'm now looking for a new one. I know there are a few people using the ACT from FM but I'm interested in what else is on offer. In the states the Max 5 is also popular, there doesn't seem to be much else other than the JR offering. Can you also say what size and stage you have if replying please i.e JR 1.8 stage II. If I go for a 1.8 does anyone know the average price of a used 1.6 flywheel. (2/02) |

No idea what a used *1.8L* flywheel would cost.
:-) I'm using a 1.8 ACT extreme pressure plate with 1.8L FM billet
aluminium flywheel. Heavier than standard, but not excessively
so. No slip, unlike the 1.6L Centerforce dual friction which started
to slip at 9 psi (despite TDi's 300bhp holding capacity claims).

| Mine's the ACT clutch also from FM. Bit tougher on the foot than the OEM clutch, but nothing to write home about. In fact, it seems to suit my car better, what with no power-steering etc. Feels like a big, fast go-cart :) (2/02) |
