| I have seen a J reg in VGC for 5,000 and
wonder if the auto is the catch? (11/99) |
| The Americans seem happy with their auto Miatas (not common but
not | rare) and the engine is tweaked slightly to allow for the
auto box. (11/99) |
| Isn't engine power down slightly, and the camshafts have a different
profile. I guess a major disadvantage of an auto in the UK will
be if anything goes wrong, you may be stuck for parts. (11/99) |
| My auto Eunos K reg cost seven and half thousand in excellent
condition (20k miles) so the price quoted to you sounds good. No
problems after six months driving. Usual auto features and button
on changer for sports mode (hold third gear) Still good acceleration
with 30 mpg. Previously owned TR6 (with inherent very heavy clutch).
Any more autos out there? (11/99) |
| Mine is also an auto. I'm not very happy with the 'box as it takes
a lot away from the driving experience and it doesn't seem too happy
at 75MPH (wants to drop out of overdrive all the time). This may
be my car only, but my next one will be a manual. I need an auto
at the moment to commute into London, and it behaves faultlessly
in traffic. I've heard that the autos shipped to the US had around
10 less bhp (on 1.6 models) but don't know if this applies to the
Japan spec cars as well. Mine "feels" slower than the manual one
I had briefly (sold it straight after importing it for a profit)
last year for a month. I also think that the box is more jerky than
the CRX and MR2 auto's I've driven. Maybe I should get mine checked
by an independant specialist??? Can anyone recommend one in the
Reading area, or has anyone used Ro-Technics at Grazeley? (11/99) |
