| I've spent the whole afternoon fitting my CD player
and am pretty damn pleased with it, something I noticed though was
that what appear to be the manufacturers wires are really thin,
like they couldn't stand more than a couple of amps before melting?
Has anyone else changed the radio in their roadster and noticed
this? I've put 5 amp fuses in the main power wire and memory back
up wire before connecting them to the main connector but am wondering
whether I should have put lesser ones in, there's no way those little
wires would stand 5 amps. (2/00) |
| You are thinking 240V ac or mains here .. they are thin but 5A
is not a lot in auto terms. (2/00) |
| I think 5A should be fine. If you look at the wires in the boot
on the rear lights they seem quite flimsy. But they are all protected
by 10A fuses. So your 5A should be fine. In fact it may be a little
low. I have a UK Spec car, with a dealer fitted radio. I think it
is fitted with a 10A fuse. (2/00) |
