After the recent debate about radiators for cars with air conditioning - my (sorry - OUR) car is a '93 UK spec car and does have air conditioning. So, was a/c an option in '93 or has it been retrofitted ? If retrofitted, perhaps the garage had to get a '93 'Eunos' radiator from Japan to enable it to fit ? Does this mean I'm going to have a load of grief if I ever need to get a new radiator ?? (1/00)
No. Correct me if I am wrong (again) but I thought all the radiators were the same. The non-A/C UK cars have the holes ready to mount the second A/C fan on the radiator, and I think the A/C condenser is mounted in front of the radiator. I even think that import/UK radiators are the same (even if somebody who shall remain nameless says different). (1/00)

That exactly matches my experience with my 92 1.6 (1/00)

The UK and Eunos radiators seemed 100% identical. Apart from it didn't fit! (My Father-in-law and I attempted it. (The UK one and then the Eunos one). And yes he's a full time car mechanic...) (1/00)
Well, I stand thoroughly corrected! What's different, as all the fan and a/c condenser from a Eunos bolted directly onto a UK car? (1/00)
.. or did they send you a 1.6 to fit to a 1.8.. otherwise there are several major revisions in the 1.8 over the years... early ones, '95 to '97, then '97 onwards .. not sure on the 1.6 revisions.. (1/00)
All I can say is that the UK Rad didn't fit to My Air con unit in my Roadster.!! (1/00)
This suggests a radiator redesign at some point such that the UK and Japanese units diverged. I must be careful when if I ever need a new radiator! (1/00)
Does this mean a 1.8 radiator won't fit an early 1.6? (was just thinking about doing that) Or won't it make a difference? (1/00)

Part nr for radiator 90-93 MX-5 1600 = b61p-15-200b
Part nr for radiator 94 MX-5 1600 = b61p-15-200b
1800 = bpe8-15-200
Part nr for radiator 99 MX-5 Mark2 1600 and 1800 = bp4w-15-200a

So for the Mark 1 there should be a difference between the radiator for a 1600 or a 1800.
For the Mark2 MX-5 the radiator stays the same for both the 1600 and the 1800. (1/00)

And automatics have a different radiator again - but they're all Roadsters and Miatas, so there won't be a European listed part number. (1/00)
There is a basic assumption here that the radiator is:
A) A genuine Mazda Part
B) Sourced from Mazda Japan and not from Serks Marston or other UK radiator supplier (1/00)
Ok! I give in! Mazda must of supplied me with a 1.8 radiator! (That's not what I ordered or what the paper work said!!!) But I retract my original comments! Thanks for to everybody putting me straight! (1/00)
On the parts list it says CALSONIC after the part nr. This could be the make of the radiator.
I found out the b61p-15-200b part nr for the 1600 radiator has been replaced with bpe8-15-200 = the 1800 radiator. (1/00)
